Drop-off and Pick-up: Camp starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 5
p.m. Special arrangements available for early drop off/late
pick up at no additional charge provided this service is not
abused. Students will be required to wait in the
classroom until their designated ride has arrived. If your
child is to be picked up by anyone other than a parent or legal
guardian you must notify us in writing and they must present a
current driver’s license for identification.
What do we need
to bring? Campers need to bring a sack lunch, plenty to
drink, long pants, hard sole sole shoes or boots to ride in, shorts
and tennis shoes to relax in and anything else they might need on a
day spent outside. Facilities include a lunchroom with A/C and
refrigerators. Students under 18 must wear protective
headgear, so riding helmets are furnished. Students can wear
bike helmets with written parental notification.
What will they
do? Students are divided into groups according to riding
experience, comfort level or age. Groups are then taught
safety around horses, how to saddle and bridle and are matched to a
horse with the student's needs in mind. They are taught two
one hour lessons a day on horseback rain or shine due to our large
indoor arena. There will be a horse show demonstration each
Friday at 3:30 p.m. during which time family and friends can
celebrate the students' efforts as well as take pictures.
All activities during the week will center around learning about
horses, so a majority of the day will be spent in the barn preparing
for a ride or taking care of the duties required in keeping horses
fed, watered and groomed as well as cleaning their stalls and the
barn area.
How do I
register? Print off a copy of the Registration
Form, fill it out and mail it along with your tuition (check
or money order made out to Capricorn Equestrian) to the address
on the form. PLEASE NOTE: Participants are only
registered upon receipt of payment and signed registration
form. Tuition will not be pro-rated. No refunds after
the first day.
PARENTS:
Please note that a Liability and Medical Consent Form
will need to be filled out by each parent or legal guardian before
riding. You may print off
the one
provided or if
you would like a copy mailed prior to camp to help streamline the
registration process, please call or email your request and leave
your name, address and a contact phone number. The form will
be sent to you. Also, please fill out and send
in the Photo Consent Form
to allow us
to use photographs for promotional purposes only.
