About Capricorn
- Established in 1976, Capricorn Equestrian has long been one of the
leading equestrian facilities in the area, concentrating on teaching
individuals about the joys of horseback riding.
At Capricorn,
there is no limit to how much you can learn. Our instructors
are well-trained riders who are as passionate about helping students
reach their goals as they are about reaching their own. We
provide our students with all of the necessary tack and equipment,
as well as more than 20 schooling horses for students to use. If you
like to ride or just like horses, you are going to love Capricorn.
|
Facilities -
Capricorn Equestrian Center features a 36,000 square foot
facility with a 20,000 square foot indoor arena, as well as a 10,000
square foot outdoor arena with over 20 school horses
available. We are located on 80 acres at 6101 Ben Road near the Sachse-Garland border and only fifteen minutes east of North Central
Expressway (Hwy. 75) and President George Bush Turnpike (I-90).
|
Equipment -
Riding helmets are mandatory for students under the age of 18.
Adult students who choose not to wear a helmet do so at their own
risk. Capricorn Equestrian Center does provide riding helmets
for those who need or desire them. It is requested that
students and riders wear hard soled shoes or boots, if
possible. Sandals or other open toed footwear will not be
permitted in the barn area. Long pants are suggested for
riding.

Owner -
Capricorn Equestrian has been owned and operated by the Easterling
family since 1976. Chad Easterling took over ownership of
Capricorn from his mother, founder Pat Easterling in 1993.
Chad has a degree in Equine Sciences from North Central Texas
College and is a member of the American Quarter Horse Association,
Appaloosa Horse Club, the National Foundation Quarter Horse
Association, and the National Reining
Horse Association. In addition, Capricorn is a member of the Sachse
Chamber of Commerce and provides lessons through Garland Recreation
Center, Rowlett Recreation Center, Sachse Recreation Center, and Rockwall
Recreation Center.

Staff
- Capricorn's staff consists of longtime students who moved on to
instructors. This brings a unique element to their teaching
because they've been through the same process as their
students. Capricorn instructors continue to expand on their
knowledge and many now ride, train, and show their own horses.

Horses
- Capricorn school horses are uniquely trained to provide
students with maximum learning benefits in a safe manner.
School horses range in age from 5 to 30 and are primarily quarter
horses.
